2010 Junior High Baseball Rules
- All
Players must be a full time student at the school for which they are
playing. Small Catholic Schools may combine if their numbers are to
low. The League must approve this.
- Students
must maintain a 1.5 G.P.A.
- Any
student with 2 F’s on his report card for the 6 weeks prior to baseball
season will be ineligible. A student must satisfy eligibility with
the next report card to become eligible.
- Students
must attend school at least ˝ day on game days.
- Official
practice may not begin prior to Jan. 9th.
- Players
may only be on 1 roster within a division. A player may play up on any
team representing his school. This
rule is for small schools having teams in each division. This must be
approved by the League Director.
- Any
player who turns 15 prior to Sept. 1st will be ineligible.
THIS IS THE SEPT. 1ST @ THE BEGINNING OF THE SCHOOL YEAR!
- We
will play high school rules with the exception of the following:
a.)
A minimum bat weight of 9 oz. length to weight
differential, Must be a big barrel bat 2 5/8” No little league type bats are
allowed. This is for 8th grade teams only. 4th thru 7th may use
little league type bats or big barrel
bats.
b.)
Our Jr. High Pitching rules will be
used see below
c.)
Games will be 6 innings or 1 hr 45 min for 6th
grade, 7th and 8th grade will play 7 innings or 1 hour
50 minutes which ever comes first. No new inning will start with 10
min left in the game.
d.)
JV teams will have free substitution rules.
- All
teams will have gate duty. That team is responsible for paying the
umpires. ($55.00 per game) Additionally if there is a field
fee it shall also come out of gate fee’s. A schedule will be posted.
- 2
game balls will be furnished by both teams prior to start of game.
- Admission
will be $4.00 for adults $2.00 for students. All coaches will be
admitted to any game free.
- Balks-
5th, 6th, & 7th Graders Dead Ball- Each pitcher
will receive 1 warning per game. 8th grade is playing
High School Rules a balk is a balk.
- The
home team is responsible for the Score Book. Please get book from concession stand and return after your
game. This is where we get
scores from so please return.
Pitching Rules
- A
calendar week is from 12:01 a.m. Monday to 12:00 midnight the following
Sunday. A pitcher is charged with the number of innings
pitched regardless of whether they are the resumption of suspended games,
or games ruled no contest.
- Any
pitcher who is removed from the mound shall not be allowed to return to
the mound.
- A
pitcher MUST have forty (40) hours rest after pitching more than
four (4) consecutive innings regardless of the calendar week.
- The
max innings a pitcher can pitch in a week is 7 innings in 1 Calendar
week. The most a pitcher can pitch in one (1) game is 7
innings. If you have 3 games per week the max in a week is raised to
ten (10) innings, 4 games eleven (11) innings. (40 hours rule will
still apply)
- Innings
are based on outs made while pitching Example: pitcher gets two (2) outs
in the first inning and is then pulled he will be charged with 2/3 of an
inning.
- No
game will be forfeited because of the violation of one of the pitching
rules because it is the manager’s responsibility to both know the rules
and ascertain the eligibility of the opposing pitcher prior to each
game. If however an ineligible pitcher is used during the course of
a game, he shall upon the protest of the opposing manager, be immediately
replace on the mound by an eligible pitcher and all occurring while the
ineligible pitcher was on the mound shall become official. The
ineligible pitcher will further become ineligible from pitching in team’s
next game. That he would have been eligible to pitcher. The manager
will be ineligible to participate in the team’s next game. A forfeit
shall not be considered to be a game to determining the next game that a
pitcher would be eligible to pitch or a manager to coach in. The
discovery of an ineligible pitcher may be made and the aforementioned
penalty imposed up to one-half (1.2) hour prior to the scheduled time of
the team’s next game. NOTE: For the purpose of determining a
violation of a pitching rule, an ineligible pitcher shall violate the
rules only when he throws a pitch to a batter in an inning, not when he
takes warm up pitches.
